William TURNER – 1775-1851 – is one the greatest British Romantic painters. He is known for the light of his landscapes. He travelled a lot and in 1830, he started to sail along the Loire between Nantes and Orléans.
The Loire landscapes inspired him. Maybe he saw this house under construction?
